About the Item
An antique Japanese Satsuma vase dating from the late nineteenth century.
Hexagonal in shape with each panel hand decorated. Two have Japanese women walking in a landscape, cherry blossom and Mount Fuji in the background , the other panel two women and a child standing by a lake, the other four are decorated with peonies and bamboo trees and other floral designs.
The top part of the vase has the traditional Satsuma pattern of floral patterns with an orange, silver and gold colours.
