About the Item

Lalique “Marrakech” crystal vase designed by Marie-Claude Lalique (French, 1935-2003), grand-daughter of René Lalique, the legendary glass designer. She took over the business in 1977 and ran it with great distinction until her death in 2003. The Marrakech vase is made of cast lead amber smokey crystal glass featuring large palm leaves in smokey topaz (wings) on each side in an Art Deco style. The vase is clear at the rim but shades gradually into an amber color moving downwards. It is signed with an etched signature on the bottom exterior edge “Lalique France”. This vase belonged to the personal collection of Marie-Claude Lalique. While the pontil (bottom or underside) of the vase bears many scratches, the vase itself is in excellent condition. DIMENSIONS: Width: 8.75 in. (22.2 cm.) Depth: 6.88 in. (17.5 cm.) Height: 12.25 in. (31.1 cm.)
