About the Item

Large polychrome faience amphora with ovoid body and winged sphinx handles. Decorated in the round with mythological motif depicting the rise of the gods to Mount Olympus. The masterful pictorial rendering was done by the Troisi brothers active in Castelli and then in Sesto Fiorentino in the early 1900s.
