Le Verre Francais Schneider Cameo Art Glass Chestnut Vase, ca. 1922-25

About the Item

A tall narrow pedestal “Le Verre Francais” cameo art glass vase (ca. 1922-25) decorated with chestnuts (marrons) by the master French glass designer Charles Schneider (1881-1953). This superbly crafted acid-etched flute-shaped vase done in the Art Deco/Art Nouveau style features deep burgundy and green chestnuts hanging on vines on a mottled yellow and pink ground, all attributes highly prized by collectors of this type of glass. Signed on the base in script “Le Verre Francais”. The vase is in pristine condition in my opinion. There are no obvious signs of wear. Even the underside of the base is in remarkable condition. DIMENSIONS: Height: 12.25”. (31.1 cm) Diameter at the rim: 3.38”. (8.7 cm) Diameter of the base: 3.88”. (9.8 cm)
