About the Item

Rare Art Deco "Poissons" Vase by René Lalique, 1921 – Amber Glass with Green Patina A rare and exquisite Art Deco vase by René Lalique, made in Paris, France, circa 1921. This magnificent "Poissons" vase is made of patinated amber glass, a captivating color that changes from amber to orange depending on the light – an exceptional and unique hue, the likes of which we have never encountered before. The surface is beautifully enhanced with a green patina, highlighting the elegant fish motifs in relief. Dimensions: Height: 23.5 cm Diameter: 26 cm Molded "R LALIQUE" signature on the base, indicating production between 1921 and 1924 (see photo). Excellent condition, with air bubbles and small "flares" characteristic of this model and the technical difficulty induced by these complex colors. Featured in Félix Marcilhac's R. Lalique catalog (no. 925) and included in the 1928 and 1932 Lalique catalogs. It is not listed in the 1937 catalog and was not reissued after 1947 by Marc Lalique, René's son. This rare vase of exceptional color is a valuable addition to any René Lalique collection.
