About the Item

Black earthenware object, a three-legged bowl, also called a tripod, with a traditional aesthetic. It is a circular bowl with three conical feet, which gives it increased stability. The object is made of black earthenware, probably fired using a fumigation or reduction firing technique, hence its dark color. The surface appears slightly shiny, indicating polishing or the use of a slip. • Ornamentation: The most striking feature is the series of conical spikes or protrusions arranged around the outer wall. These spikes give the object an almost "spiky" or "warlike" appearance. This type of container could serve ritual or traditional culinary purposes, or even as an ethnographic decorative object. This style is reminiscent of traditional Mesoamerican or African ceramics, in which tripod shapes and prominent ornaments often have a symbolic or ritual function.
