Vintage Modern Scherzer White Matte Porcelain Bisque German Vases Set of 3

About the Item

Charming vintage modern Scherzer white matte porcelain bisque German vases set of 3. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 1949-1991. A Trifecta of Terrific Vases!! Aren’t these German Scherzer vases gorgeous? We certainly think so! This trio is comprised of matte white porcelain bisque each stamped on the bottom; Scherzer Bavaria, Germany. This mark was used 1949-1991 time frame and we believe these to be 1970’s. Each piece also bares a model number on the base. This set consists of model #511-1, a tall cylindrical geometric vase, #746-1, a mid-sized squared oval shaped vase with a lovely tree décor on both sides, and #745-0, a smaller squared oval shaped vase with an architectural pattern on both sides. They complement each other wonderfully and will look stunning grouped together on a console or sofa table, on a desk filled with fresh or faux flowers, or in a display cabinet or hutch. Their porcelain composition allows them to hold water if you choose. They are sleek, simple, and have a classy German modern flair. The company ‘Zeh, Scherzer & Co was founded in 1880 by Johann Nicol Adam Zeh. His partners were Johann Michael Scherzer junior, Georg Adam Winterling, Johann Nicol Jacob Junior, Johann Andreas Karl Wolfel, and Johann Paulus Hertel. The company produced a wide range of pieces including tea & coffee sets, decorative porcelain, and regular household items and tableware. In 1910 it transformed into a limited company (Porzellanfabrik Zeh, Scherzer & Co. A.G.) and over 70 percent of production was exporting to the United States. In 1924 the company bought Porzellanfabrik Elster located in Mühlhausen in Saxony and owned it till 1935 and in 1992 the company stopped production of porcelain. -theoldstuff. • Vintage Modern Aubergine Corrugated Cardboard Urn Floor Vase Style Van Pelt
    By Gregory Van Pelt
    Located in Topeka, KS
Lovely vintage modern aubergine painted corrugated cardboard large urn shaped floor vessel vase with brass plated brim in the style of Gregory Van Pelt’s Flute Lamp. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. It has a fresh coat of aubergine paint; however, we left the patina on the brass plated rim because we love it. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, Late 20th Century. What does an eggplant, Barney the dinosaur, and this floor vase have in common? They are ALL the perfect shade of PURPLE!!! This is an INCREDIBLE urn shaped floor vase in the style of Gregory Van Pelt’s “Flute” lamp!! Interestingly, there are SO many misattributions of this corrugated cardboard vase being designed by Frank Gehry. And, although he DID in fact design many pieces of corrugated cardboard furniture, including the “Easy Edges” line in 1972, Gehry did NOT design these vases or cardboard lighting. It was in 1976, Van Pelt produced a line of cardboard lighting using a compass and razor blade. He called the pieces “Flute” lamps. The difference between Van Pelt’s fiberboard and Gehry’s laminated layers of cardboard may have been too subtle for initial buyers to notice. Hence, a life of misattributions. BUT make NO mistake… this floor vase is AWESOME!! At 19 inches tall and 13 inches in diameter, it is large scale in size and sure to bring a pop of purple passion to any room in your home! It has a fresh coat of aubergine paint; however, the brass plated brim bares a bit of aged patina which we purposefully left because we LOVE it. Although we call it a floor vase, it will not hold water unless you insert another vessel inside the top, so you’ll need to use faux florals...

    Located in Topeka, KS
Gorgeous Folk Art style multi-color molded plastic or acrylic hand vases a set of 7. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. One of the maroon vases is partially filled. These are hand made folk art, irregularities are part of their charm. Please see photos and zoom in for details. We attempt to portray any imperfections. Circa, 20th Century. Note: Shipping is possible via parcel which may reduce shipping costs Hey there! Do you need a hand? Or SEVEN?? We are here to help!! We have seven Folk Art style vases with molded hands of many vibrant colors to offer to you! This set includes 2 white, 2 maroon or burgundy, 1 green, 1 yellow, and one bright red molded plastic vases. That’s 35 fantastic fingers!! They are round at the bottom and kind of oval or egg shaped at the top. They are inner lined with burlap for extra reinforcement, but they are light weight, so if you want to put something a little heavier inside like an artificial plant, you may want to put a weight of some kind in the base. They will hold water, but for a “handy” tip… we certainly DO NOT recommend drinking from them! They are best used as unique, eye-catching décor!! They would host a wonderful spider plant...

  • Gothic Revival Style Dragon Motif Brass & Leather Accent Mahogany Hutch Cabinet
    Located in Chattanooga, TN
This piece begs a lot of questions. Some will remain unknown, but we'll do our best. First, take a broad, sweeping overview and lets all just agree this cabinet is beyond amazing. Even if medieval neo-goth and emo aren't your thing, you must appreciate the solid mahogany construction, dovetail joinery and attention to detail. To the best of our knowledge, this piece appears to be American made Neo Gothic / Gothic Revival from the 1960s or 1970s. Ornate brass hinge and pull accented cabinet door frames outline an interior of lattice giltwood over burgundy / gold textile. Leather "windows" frame the textile on the top and bottom. Directly beneath is a single drawer with large, oxidized rivets that secure a dragon motif crest dyed into a thick scroll of leather. Brass medallions punctuate each side of the drawer. The designer was also compelled to hang a wood pestle...
