About the Item

One of a kind, hand blown vase. Exceptional grace and beauty. Comes with the original Yoichi Ohira red velvet box lined with white silk. Yoichi Ohira in his exceptional works of art fused and harmonized classical beauty of the west with culture and esthetics of Japan. Drawing inspiration from Roman mosaic glass he perfectly combined transparent and opaque glass in his designs. Yoichi Ohira (1946–2022) was a Japanese glass artist who resided in Venice for over twenty-five years until his passing. He challenged the conventional attributes of glass art and revolutionized a new design paradigm of organic shapes with traditional techniques.
