Pre Columbian Sican Lambayeque Stirrup whistle Vessel A most interesting stirrup whistle vessel of a man seated on top of a raft of storage vessel, the vessel features a conical spout that creates a high-pitched whistling sound from the opposite end of the handle when air is blown into it, In ancient times this would have been filled with Maize beer whist performing a ritual the whistling sound being made as the liquid is poured out. Pre-Columbian, North Coast Peru, Sican-Lambayeque culture, ca. 750 to 1370 CE. when air is blown in.
