About the Item

Huge (Ø 33cm) and heavy (1521grs) Traditional South Tyrolian Wall Plate Manufactured by THUN Bozen History of the company The company was founded in 1950 by Count Otmar and Countess Lene Thun as a ceramics workshop in the Klebenstein Residence in Bolzano. In the early years, the figure of a singing angel was created, which became an internationally known company symbol as the Original Bolzano Angel. In 1978, his son Peter Thun took over the management of the company. In the following decades, Thun developed into an international company. The Thuniversum, a multimedia showroom and flagship store, opened in 2002 at the company's headquarters in Bolzano. With around 400,000 visitors a year, it is one of the city's biggest tourist attractions, Production Period around 1965 :-: in good condition :-: With a minor glaze defect to the upper edge of the plate
