Cork Beehive from the Pyrenees Mountains

Buyer Protection Guaranteed

Old cork beehive from the Andorra Region of the Pyrenees Mountains. Romans first began making beehives out of this light versatile tree bark over 2000 years ago because of its lack of heat conductivity allowing bees to stay cool inside. Such hives are rare now but can still be spotted in some remote areas of the region. The cork is rolled into a cylinder and secured with heavy twine. Wonderful for storage, as an umbrella Stand, a side table, wired as a light fixture, the uses are limitless.
