Vintage English Nautical Binnacle in Tall Copper/ Brass and Mahogany Housing, Ty
About the Item
Made by John Lilley & Gillie Ltd., England. A standard binnacle form in copper/brass housing with arms set with red and taupe painted iron Kelvin's balls (the taupe one with open holes on the sides). The whole mounted on a tall mahogany support. With a small enamel dial on the front (lacking the glass cover). Very solid with good weight and presenting very well.
Measures: Height 55", width 31", diameter top 16", base 20 1/2 x 21"
Condition: Expected age related wear including tarnished copper overall, some wear to the base corners. Glass cover for Unit Measure Dial is missing.
