Western Style Silver Plate Concho Belt by Artist and Jeweler Kit Carson

About the Item

A wonderous creative take on the traditional Concho Belt by renown artist and jeweler Kit Carson. He has mastered the art of stylistic blending of Western, Texan, and Native American genres with this unique belt. The belt is 50 inches in length overall. The Armadillo belt buckle measures 1.76 inches W. x 2.25 inches L. x .5 inches H. There are 43 "Conchos" in total. 22 depict a Diamond Back Rattler and 21 depict Lizards. This piece is in like-new condition and has not been previously worn. I am its original owner. A rare opportunity to acquire a one-of-a-kind vintage example of the Kit Carson's work in pristine original condition. Influenced by the Art Nouveau, Carson's work pays homage to the romanticism of the 1950s American West. His jewelry is made with sterling silver, high-karat gold, and precious and semi-precious gemstones. Carson was the first featured artist on the 2007 Peabody Award-winning PBS series "Craft In America" and is included in Marquis Who's Who in American Art (2020). His work is extensively represented in private collections including Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Joni Mitchell, George Clooney, Robert Redford, Robert Rauschenberg, and Jack Nicholson. The late Robin Williams, a collector, described Kit Carson as "Rene Lalique meets Dr. Seuss at the High Noon Bar."
