About the Item

Swedish mid-20th century Folk Art wall cabinet of carved pine, painted in “mahogany” red. The motif depict a man in a horse pulled carriage, various animals including a snake, crayfish, pig and bear. The inscription translated to English reads “Here Saint Elijah goes to heaven's land”. Although the artist is not identified there is a photo of the artist and possibly his wife dating from circa 1950 of him carving a similar cabinet. Measures: Height 18”, width 26”, depth 5”.
