About the Item

Handmade by Tralala Quilts, this traditional four-patch patchwork quilt in a warm harvest palette with wool batting is the perfect autumn quilt. Handmade by Tralala Quilts, this traditional four-patch set-in-a-square patchwork quilt is composed of hundreds of precisely aligned cotton pieces in a balanced grid. A harvest-toned palette—russet, ochre, moss, chestnut, navy and soft rose—reads as the perfect autumn quilt, adding instant warmth and texture to a room. The top and backing are 100% cotton; a 100% wool batting gives airy loft and exceptional insulation without weight, ideal for transitional weather. Finished size is approximately 78.5 x 61.5 inches (200 x 156 cm). The classic four-patch construction celebrates the heritage of traditional 4-patch quilts while the variety of small-scale prints—florals, geometrics, stripes and checks—adds visual depth at both near and far viewing. Even, closely spaced quilting reinforces the geometry and ensures longevity, making this patchwork quilt a thoughtful choice for collectors who value craftsmanship and everyday utility. Fully bound edges and a smooth drape underscore Tralala Quilts’ meticulous finishing. Care: dry clean, or machine-wash cold on a gentle wool cycle with two to three colour-catcher sheets and a mild detergent; dry flat. Placement: drape across the foot of a bed, fold over the back of a leather club chair, or layer in a study, library or weekend house to underline a fall palette. As a gift, it will resonate with textile enthusiasts, new homeowners and anyone seeking an heirloom-quality autumn quilt by Tralala Quilts.

Vintage American Amish “Nine Patch” Hand-Stitched Patchwork Quilt
Located in Barrington, IL
This beautifully hand-crafted cotton quilt, created by the Amish community of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, dates to the mid-1900s and features the timeless “Nine Patch” pattern—an enduring symbol of simplicity, harmony, and tradition in American quiltmaking. Composed of individually hand-cut and hand-stitched pieces in a rich palette of purples, blues, and earthy browns, the quilt exemplifies the quiet elegance of Amish design. The fine stitching throughout reflects a high level of skill and dedication, embodying the values of patience, precision, and practicality. Like many quilts of its kind, this piece was made using repurposed materials—textiles originally intended for everyday use—transformed through craftsmanship into an object of lasting beauty. It stands as a poignant example of upcycling long before the term existed, turning necessity into art and function into heritage. While photographs may not fully capture the depth and nuance of its colors, a video is provided for a more accurate representation. This quilt offers not only warmth and comfort but also a tangible connection to a unique cultural legacy—ideal for collectors, historians, or those with an eye for the understated artistry of American folk tradition.
