Vintage Ethnic Embroidered Baby Jacket from Nepal Pink Green Red

About the Item

An exquisite vintage piece of child’s clothing from the country Nepal. A stunning ethnic jacket with a mixture of cloths, colored threads, hand stitching, geometric tribal patterns, patchwork, and embroidery. May well have been constructed using fragments of even older antique pieces of material. The wear, tear, fading and distressed areas are what make it so beautiful and give it its splendid character. We suggest this as a piece of Folk Art work for its detail to be admired on the wall, perhaps even in a nursery. A gorgeous piece of treasure and collector’s item, a fantastic decorative piece for display for an unusual accent to your interior whether traditional, Bohemian style or contemporary. Would look fabulous framed, we are shipping it non-framed for the convenience of international buyers. Also on view is our ethnic pillows (cushions) constructed with precious fragments of fabric backed in natural colored pure Irish linen. Color: Pink, green, red, orange, gold, blue, purple, off-white and black.

Rustic Vintage Ethnic Dhaka Pattern Purple Throw Rug from Nepal
Located in Belfast, Northern Ireland
Beautiful vintage ethnic heavyweight cloth that could be used as a stunning home accessory whether thrown over a sofa or laid on the floor as a rug, perhaps even as a wall hanging admired as a piece of artistry. Dhaka is the traditional handmade fabric of the indigenous ‘Limbu’ people of Eastern Nepal, it’s origin goes back several hundred years to the Terhathum district. It is very unique and its distinctive geometric patterns make it stand out from other ethnic cloths. The Dhaka pattern is best known in the form of a topi, a cap worn by men in traditional dress and by bridegrooms at weddings and is a symbol of Nepalese heritage. Here the soft but strong natural fibres have been woven in several charming soft colors with the visible this threads displaying a captivating texture. Ever so slightly faded in patches which add to it’s history, character and charm. No damage or restoration. This would look fabulous in a Bohemian, rustic or even traditional interior. It could also be used as a very elaborate and luxurious beach accessory in the form of a towel or bathroom matt. We have two different throws as well as some wonderful Dhaka fabric cushions (pillows) backed in Irish linen that would match. Color: Purple, fuchsia pink, blue, black, white (off-white), orange and yellow, blanket, bed runner...

Located in North Hollywood, CA
Vintage Samarkand Suzani, Uzbekistan embroidered textile red and black Tashkent Suzani from Samarkand Uzbekistan, 1950. Overall good condition for its age and use some stains. "Suzani" means needlework and these embroideries are some of the most characteristic forms of textile art from Central Asia. The mastery of color and the dynamic sense of movement they convey continue to add depth and joy to contemporary interiors. A high level of creative variation and the individuation of each flower are what make each piece unique. Measures: 67.5" x 57". The Silk Road Bukhara: Like scattered pearls along the vast expanse of the Great Silk Road, the cities of Uzbekistan glisten radiantly under the unforgiving sun. This nation, nestled in a picturesque oasis, holds a treasure trove of historical artifacts, owing to its advantageous position at the heart of the ancient Silk Road network. In the year 138 BC, a transformative era commenced as China graciously opened its borders to trade, giving rise to caravans that embarked upon this illustrious route. These trading pathways served as conduits not only for the exchange of goods and craftsmanship but also for the intermingling of cultures, beliefs, and wisdom. Even today, within the ancient walls of cities like Samarkand, one can still discern the echoes of bustling voices, the melodious jingle of camel harnesses...
