A large and impressive antique English cut-glass chandelier, having prism pendant canopy above graduated chains of double star prisms. The chandelier, fitted with six candle-arms with pendant drop lotus-shape cups above four prism-pendant diminishing tiered rings terminating with facetted circular bauble. With restoration and now wired internally with electric lights.

This magnificent chandelier relates to examples in the collection at Chatsworth House which were acquired by the 6th Duke of Devonshire for his London residence Devonshire House in the 1840s, notably for the Green Drawing Room and grand Salon.
