About the Item

A most charming and unique Continental 19th century Louis XVI st. Gilt Metal, Tole, Glass, and Saxe Porcelain chandelier. This wonderful four arm four light chandelier is centered by an inverted pyramid shaped base consisting of twisted Gilt Metal bands. Raised in the center within the inverted pyramid shape is a wonderfully detailed perched green Saxe Porcelain parrot. The four 'S' scrolled arms begin atop the parrot before cascading downwards to surround the parrot on all sides with candle cups designed with Tole acanthus leaves. Above the parrot and below the top crown where the arms begin is an elegant Tulip bulb Glass pendant with reeded cuts. Throughout the entirety of this gorgeous chandelier are wandering vines with blooming flowers and leaves, giving this piece its true colorful personality.
