About the Item

A vintage Mid-Century Modern Italian pendant made of a brass structure, composed with six hand blown frosted opaline glass light shades, supported by slightly curved brass arms. Every arm is featured with a single light socket. Most likely produced by Stilnovo in good condition. The wires have been renewed. Wear consistent with age and use. Circa 1950, Milan, Italy. Measures: Shade: 8” height x 3.5” diameter Stilnovo was an Italian lighting and design company founded in 1946, in Milan by the well-known Italian designer Bruno Gatta. During the Mid-Century Modern era the Stilnovo brand was one of the most pioneered lighting design companies in Italy, also known as the Stilnovo Period. Well-known artists have worked and designed for Stilnovo, such as the Italian architect and designer Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Joe Cesare Colombo, etc. To this day, the Stilnovo brand is still a benchmark in the Italian lighting history.
