21st Century Tophane Suspension Lamp Brass Aluminium
About the Item
New is a relative term in Istambul. Much of what you will see here, dates from the 19th century and so is this stylized lamp. Honouring the skills in metalworking of Turkish artisans, Tophane modern suspension lamp mixes copper plated brass arms with directional aluminium shades lacquered in black and white. This contemporary lighting piece simultaneously reminds us of the typical Turkish hats as well as the cannons, once made on this old industrial district, currently home of the Tophane-i Amire Culture. Tophane Suspension Lamp was designed by Creativemary and is part of the Cosmo Collection.
