Antique Chandelier, 19th Century Gilt Bronze

About the Item

Magnificent mid-19th century chandelier, original mercury gilding showing a rich contrast of matte and burnished areas. The chandelier features a profuse array of Neoclassical ornaments such an a stylized eagle head issuing arms ending in elaborate candle cups. The chasing is of jewelry quality, truly a feast for the eye! In extraordinarily good condition. Originally for candles, now electrified. 36 lights in three tiers.
