About the Item

The "Hérons' Chandelier" is one of Albert Cheuret's notable works from around 1925. This chandelier exemplifies the Art Deco style with its geometric lines, luxurious materials, and often symbolic motifs, signed at the top of bronze stem "Albert Cheuret". Cheuret's designs frequently incorporated natural elements and mythological themes, and the "Hérons' Chandelier" is no exception. It typically features stylized herons, which were a popular motif in the Art Deco period, reflecting a blend of natural beauty and abstract forms. The use of high-quality materials and craftsmanship is a hallmark of Cheuret's work, and his chandeliers are known for their intricate detailing and sophisticated aesthetic. The "Hérons' Chandelier" includes a bronze stem signed "Albert Cheuret", with 3 Heron bronzed birds, and 36 alabaster pieces. 15 out of the 36 alabaster pieces, have been changed, due to being slightly damaged/broken, and were done by a professional stone maker, where you can hardly see the difference between the previous pieces and replaced pieces. Bronze structure has been untouched and in its original state. Valued for its translucent quality, alabaster is used to diffuse light gently, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. Alabaster, being a relatively soft and porous stone, can experience wear over time, note that some of the alabaster pieces has some dense on them due to time wear. Factors such as dust, light, and air can lead to discoloration or degradation of the material. It is currently wired to 220V as per European standards and could easily be switched to 110v as per American standards, upon request and free of charge. Light bulbs not included. Albert Cheuret (French, 1884–1966) Albert Cheuret was a sculptor and designer who is best known for his lighting designs that incorporate geometric elements with stylized birds. He was a frequent exhibitor at the salons and also designed a shop installation at the Paris Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes of 1925.
