Art Deco Ninfea Murano Glass Chandelier by Barovier Italy, 1940
About the Item
I offer for sale a splendid chandelier made in Italy around the mid-20th century modern attributable to the Barovier and Toso manufacture located in Murano. Composed of a central basin made in a superb ribben pulegoso glass that fully represents the Italian Art Deco style, it hides inside a perforated wooden disk in which 12 descending leaves are housed.
The phytomorphic design of this chandelier handcrafted between the 30s and 40s meant that this model was nicknamed with the name of a flower, model "Ninfea".
We are not able to attribute with certainty the manufacture of the chandelier, as it has no labels or stamps but what is evident is the very high quality of the workmanship and the glass with which it was made.
The chandelier works and its electrical system has been completely replaced and renewed by us recently.
The 12 descending leaves do not have visible or perceptible scratches to the touch.
