About the Item

Chandelier / Pendant Light / Bowl Fixture by Noverdy Silvered Bronze Mount, Art Deco, France, Circa 1930 An elegant Art Deco suspension signed Noverdy, crafted in molded-pressed glass with a stylized floral design. The bowl features a geometrically interpreted rose motif, inspired by the aesthetic of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, emblematic of the modernist influences of the 1930s. The finely detailed silvered bronze mount beautifully complements the delicacy of the glasswork. This piece offers a refined harmony of architectural precision and organic poetry, characteristic of the finest French Art Deco creations. • Overall height: 64 cm • Diameter: 36 cm • Signature: “Noverdy” molded into the glass • Condition: Excellent original condition • Recent electrification, fully checked and functional A luminous and rare piece — ideal for enhancing a curated interior or an exceptional decorative project. History: Noverdy Art Glass Founded in the 1920s in Dijon, the Noverdy glassworks epitomize the excellence of French Art Deco glassmaking. Noverdy developed a distinctive style, influenced by major workshops of the period such as Daum, Muller Frères, and André Delatte, while maintaining a unique artistic voice at the crossroads of stylized nature and architectural modernism. Originally known as La Nouvelle Verrerie de Dijon, the atelier was located at Dijon and specialized in luminaires, vases, and ceiling bowls in molded-pressed glass, often decorated with acid-etched or enameled powdered motifs. Noverdy’s creations—typically signed “Noverdy” or “Noverdy France”—are recognized for their refined interplay of transparency, frosted textures, and subtle color tones (smoky, amber, opalescent...). Awarded at the 1929 Exhibition for the quality of its craftsmanship, Noverdy remains today a highly sought-after name among collectors and decorative arts connoisseurs, celebrated for its rare balance between artisanal precision and the poetic soul of glass.
