About the Item

Elegant six-light chandelier produced in the early 1970s in chrome-plated steel and crystal, by master Angelo Gaetano Sciolari (1927-1994), restored and ready to be placed. The chrome-plated frame supports 6 chrome-plated steel tubes with lower fitting for E14 bulbs and at the upper end 6 crystal spheres and 19 chains with spherical crystal decorations. The electrical system operates at 110-240 volts and requires 6 regular bulbs with E14 socket (also led). It is in very good condition, with no rust on the chrome metal. Nowadays, the wide range of works produced by Master Gaetano Sciolari, are pieces of absolute value, sought after by the new generation of admirers of the 1960s and 1970s. His luxurious, futuristic-looking multi-light chandeliers, which create interesting optical effects and combine polished and satin-finished metals such as brass and chrome-plated metal, achieved increasing popularity in the United States during the 1970s, years in which his style veered toward Art Deco and Space Age-inspired aesthetics. Founder and president of the Association of Italian Lighting Manufacturers, Sciolari is now a highly sought-after name for his collectibles. Sciolari's best achievements are precisely those at the turn of this two decades...when his work experiments with the myriad influences from Cubism, Deconstructivism, and Minimalism... all linked by a sophisticated and futuristic vision of design, often studded with materials such as crystal,Murano glass, frosted glass and shiny metals juxtaposed with satin finishes, brass and chrome-plated metal.
