Danish Mid Century Tivoli Garden Pendant by Louis Weisdorf

About the Item

The "Conch" fixture or as we say in Danish "Konkylie" light fixture was made for Tivoli Garden in Copenhagen by Louis Weisdorf in 1964. Produced by Lyfa in collaboration with the Berg brothers. Louis Weisdorf worked as the assistant for Simon P. Henningsen at the Tivoli Garden. The Konkylie is said to be to first Louis Weisdorf pendant that carries his name although some of the former lights by Simon P. Henningsen was drawn by Louis Weisdorf. The lamp consists of 12 golden metal lamellaes, which form a geometrical conch-shaped form. This construction gives a beatiful light: The inside of the lamp is lacquered in orange and yellow and the bulb is fully hidden. The chromed outside reflects the light in an amazing way and both lit or unlit this lamp is an eye-catcher. This iconic Danish design piece is ideal for the contemporary modern home. NOTE> This lamp was fiber washed and has some light scratches on the surface. (See pic4).
