Danish Modern 'Opal Lamella' Pendant Lamp by Svend Aage Holm Sorensen, 1950s
About the Item
This rare ceiling lamp was designed by Svend Aage Holm Sorensen for his own company Holm Sorensen Belysning in 1959. The name of this piece is 'Opal Lamella' and it is composed of a sealed opaline glass shade set in a brass holder. It has an outer light-diffusing crimson red shade made of perforated and modular aluminium. Holm Sorensen was greatly inspired by the Italian company, Stilnovo. This unusual pendant lamp is an example of that influence.
