Early 19th Century, French Empire Gilded Bronze and Crystal Chandelier

About the Item

A period French Empire crystal and gilt bronze nine candle bell shaped chandelier of the highest quality; the circular corona surmounted by palm shaped finials suspending swagged crystal chains supporting a cascade of crystal drops to a main finely chased lower gilded ring ornamented with palm shaped finials, the main ring issuing nine eagle head scroll branches with vase shaped nozzles and circular drip pans suspending swagged drops between gilded supporting bands decorated with trailing leaves and terminating in a pine cone base; not electrified but presently having an interior bottom uplight. The bronze casting, mercury gilding, and the original faceted crystals are of the finest quality available. France, circa 1810.
