About the Item

With its pivoting shades, this chandelier effortlessly distributes light throughout the room. The upper shades contribute to ambient lighting, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the lower shades provide task and direct lighting.
The shades themselves are meticulously crafted from spun aluminum and the distinctive line of small holes preserves the authentic mid-century aesthetic. The shades are enameled in classic colors from the 1950s palette, including ivory white, and black. For alternative color options, please feel free to contact us.
The chandelier's arms and body are meticulously crafted in solid brass lightly polished yet intentionally left unprotected to allow the natural patina to develop over time.
Inspired by the iconic light fixtures produced by mid-century modern Italian studios, this chandelier is a Silvio Piattelli design with its own unique and distinctive aesthetic. Its presence adds an air of elegance and sophistication to any home.
Crafted in our specialized workshop dedicated to mid-century modern design, every aspect of this fixture is meticulously considered. The finish and appearance are carefully matched to the rare lamps of the 1950s that served as inspiration.
Each shade consists of two separate cones, with a candelabra socket on the smaller cone and a regular socket on the larger shade. However, upon request, both cones can be equipped with candelabra sockets.
This chandelier is made to order and can be tailored to your specifications and preferences.

Orbitale 3 arms frame using the twin shade. Thanks to a customer who had the articulated sconces and wanted this version with black and ivory shades. It's a beautiful combination of colors on the shades with the light noisette patina on the brass.
I designed this for being placed above a kitchen island where it's at the best of use, having task light and movable arms and shades.
It would be great also over a counter, a dining table and a living room.
Arms are balanced with a heavy cast brass sphere and are rotating on the stem in an orbital movement.
In order to get perfect balancing the sphere is filled with sand to reach the point of no leverage.
Shades are in hand spun aluminum, lacquered with ivory powder paint with eggshell semi matte finish. Black is matte as that is the best with brass.
Shades are connected to the arm with a pivot joint to give different possibilities of light orientation.
