About the Item

An exquisite French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period ormolu, patinated bronze and frosted glass chandelier. The six arm, nine light chandelier is centered by a beautiful and finely detailed bottom acorn finial and a luxuriant array of scrolled foliate movements. Each elegantly curved arm is adorned with fine acanthus leaves and displays fine spiral fluted designs, reeded bobeches and lovely floral candlecups. At the center are three most impressive and finely detailed cherubs draped in wonderfully executed flowing garments holding striking eternal flame torches with superb frosted glass covers. The patinated bronze central fut is in the shape of quiver with fine fluted designs and striking richly chased ormolu fletchings and charming tied ribbons above.
