About the Item

An extremely elegant and high quality French 19th century Louis XVI st. Belle Époque period six arm ormolu chandelier. The chandelier is centered by a charming and richly chased bottom acorn finial and large acanthus leaves. The striking fluted central fut is in the shape of a quiver which displays intricately detailed fletchings and a fine Les Oves wrap around border in a rich satin and burnished finish. Each elegantly 'S' scrolled arm is adorned with large acanthus leaves and rinceaux shaped designs with wheat sprigs. The foliate candle cups display lovely designs with a beaded border and floral bobeches. At the center is a fine foliate loop from where a wonderful flowing fabric extends upwards and is tied with a grand ribbon and tassels to the foliate top crown. * Shades are shown for display purposes only.
