About the Item
A very elegant French 19th Century Louis XVI st. circular giltwood six arm chandelier. The chandelier has a bottom berried finial below a reeded central band decorated by berried laurel garlands. The richly decorated 'S' scrolled arms protrude out of the central band decorated by fanciful acanthus leaves and end with circular rosettes on each side. Each candle cup has designs of foliate and surrounded by a beaded band. Draping above are berried laurel swags above the spiral-fluted fut. The very top has carved gilt flames. All original gilt.
