About the Item

An elegant and highly detailed French 19th century Louis XVI st. Gilt Iron and Rock Crystal chandelier, attributed to Maison Bagues. This beautiful small scale six arm six light chandelier is centered by a Gilt Iron finial with a wonderful tear drop amethyst Crystal hanging below with other smaller scaled Rock Crystals. The six arms are decorated with tear drop and prism cut Crystals along with three central reserves of gentle Iron band with hanging amethyst and Rock Crystals pendants. The cage of this chandelier is made of three scrolled supports that are decorated with garlands of spherical Crystals. Inside the cage is the elaborate foliate spray with both amethyst and Rock Crystal tear drops of all sizes and a Crystal rosette atop. Above the cage is the stunning top crown designed with scrolling acanthus leaves below the widespread Gilt Iron spray with hanging prism cut, tear drop, and amethyst Crystals.
