About the Item

A vintage French eight-light forged-iron chandelier made from a 19th century spit-jack. This French chandelier from the mid-20th century is comprised from an earlier 19th century spit-jack, which was once used as a type of rotisserie that was common in fireplaces. This chandelier has eight arms, four projecting straight outward along each long side, connecting at the middle to the central spit-jack. This light fixture is connected to the upper canopy from either end of the spit-jack by two linked chains. This French spit-jack chandelier has been rewired for the US and comes with a complimentary 3-foot chain and canopy painted to match.
