French Five-Light Foliage Themed Giltwood Carved Chandelier, Early 20th Century
About the Item
A French five-light carved giltwood chandelier with foliage motifs from the early 20th century. This French chandelier circa 1900 is an ode to acanthus leaves and various foliates. The carved giltwood structure is organized around a central carved column, made of motifs reminiscent of a palm tree trunk, beautifully exploding in a corona at the top. The circular basket supports five scrolled arms with acanthus leaves, their wooden bobèches holding authentic wax candle sleeves. Refined and elegant, this French giltwood chandelier would adorn any living or dining room beautifully and has been rewired for the US and is ready to hang.
