Hans Kogl Gold Palm Leaf and Capiz Shell Chandelier
About the Item
Spectacular Hans Kogl chandelier, gilt palm leaves form the canopy of the light, with turned wooden lamp holder cups and base, the Capiz shell shades contrast brilliantly against the wood and golden gilt metal body of the chandelier. Minor cracks to a couple of the wooden cups.
The lamp holder arms and central stem also have applied gilt leaf decoration.
3 lamp holders that take E14 (small screw bulbs).
Measures: Height 54cm, width 61cm, Rose 11cm wide.
The light is wired and in full working order, but as with all our lighting we would always suggest it is fitted and tested by a qualified electrician.

Gilt 1940s sheaf of wheat Hollywood Regency pendant chandelier by Hans Kögl fully restored from top to bottom by UL Certified Professionals. This particular Hans Kögl chandelier was originally brought to the US by a World War II American GI when returning from his deployment in Germany after the war and then hung in his home up until recently. In terms of look, a beautiful example of the Hollywood Regency style. Upscale. Elegant. Regal. Old money look. This chandelier's finish is known as Bole Gilding, a technique that began about eight thousand years ago in Europe and Asia. Bole - a specific type of colored clay - is applied first and then gold leaf is applied over it creating unique highlights of color with red being by far the most popular. Red undertones are thus purposeful and make each fixture one of a kind. A most beautiful acquisition for a discerning collector or aficionado of finer things.
