About the Item

An elegant and monumentally scaled Italian 18th century neo-classical st. gilt metal, patinated iron, and cut glass chandelier. The forty arm chandelier displays a stunning Montgolfier shape with a lovely circular bottom gilt metal tier adorned with fine most decorative prism shaped cut glass pendants. Beautiful swaging beaded glass garlands lead upwards with patinated iron chains to the central gilt metal tier with eight single and eight pairs of elegantly scrolled arms. The arms branch out and display charming gilt metal floral candle cups. Above is an additional gilt metal tier with eight additional arms with swaging beaded glass garlands and patinated iron chains lead upwards to the majestic and most impressive top crown with large palmette sprays also adorned with lovely beaded glass swaging garlands.
