Italian 19th Century Eighteen-Light Giltwood and Crystal Chandelier
About the Item
A stunning and unique Italian 19th century eighteen light giltwood, patinated bronze and crystal chandelier from Northern Italy. The chandelier has an elegant hand blown cut crystal bottom sphere surrounded by a lovely spray of tear drop shaped cut crystal pendants and swaging garlands. The impressive giltwood central fut is decorated with richly carved acanthus leaves where the two tiers of lighting branch off. Each tier of lighting displays S scrolled patinated bronze arms each adorned with swaging cut crystal garlands with smooth tear drop crystal pendants ending in lovely cut crystal pendants and rosettes. At the top crown are two layers of sprays with additional elegant crystal pendants joined by crystal garlands. All original gilt and patina.
