Italian Early 19th Century Baroque St. Giltwood and Gilt Metal Chandelier

About the Item

A beautiful and high quality Italian early 19th century Baroque st. giltwood and gilt metal chandelier. The impressive eight arm chandelier is centered by a finely detailed and richly carved bottom foliate finial below large scale palmettes leading to the central tier adorned with charming pear shaped giltwood finials. At the center is a finely mottled giltwood band with elegant scrolled and foliate movements from where the eight scrolled arms branch out. Each arm is decorated with finely detailed acanthus leaf and tulip shaped carvings leading to the lovely foliate candle cup. Large palmettes decorate the top of the central tier below gilt metal link chains surrounding the giltwood central fut and leading up to the top crown with additional large palmette details. *Shade shown for display purposes only, sold separately.
