About the Item
Impressive antique French Louis XVI-style chandelier, finely crafted in gilt bronze and hand-carved alabaster. This remarkable fixture features a beautifully sculpted circular alabaster bowl, rimmed and surrounded by ornate gilt bronze double arms ending in foliate leaves and bobeches with fluted cups. Four substantial gilt bronze chain links suspend the chandelier from its original, heavily cast and intricately detailed canopy.
The design showcases gilt bronze arms and is further enhanced with openwork gilt bronze chains connecting to the original canopy. The natural stone bowl resembles onyx or marble, displaying dramatic charcoal striations and veining with a warm, translucent glow. The combination of refined materials and exquisite detailing makes this chandelier a striking centerpiece for any elegant interior.
The interior of the dome is electrified, the arms are not. Natural specimen can be used in a dining room, marble bathroom, kitchen, library, study, entry foyer, or anywhere an impressive statement is warranted.

- Condition:Repaired: In good condition other than an old repair to the rim that is camouflaged by the natural veining and a very small interior chalk mark - very hard to notice, see photos supplied. Natural patina + wear on gilt bronze finish consistent w/ age and use. Wear consistent with age and use. good condition, rim repair is barely discernible. The interior of the dome is electrified with eight candelabra sockets, the arms are not electrified. We recommend you buy LED bulbs.
