About the Item

Late 19th Century Neoclassical Style Ornate Bronze Chandelier With Glass Shade Offered for sale is an ornate late 19th century bronze chandelier created in the Neoclassical style. The chandelier has a central cut glass etched dome that is the dominant light source with multiple short candles centered below.. The very decorative bronze frame that surrounds the dome extends outward on either end with scrolled bronze three-candle lights. The lower bronze frame is supported by a bronze arch that connects to an ornate fitting and the fixed canopy. The bronze has a rich patina and the fixture has been fitted for modern electrical applications. This fixture was probably originally a gas fixture which enabled a modern electrical conversion.
