About the Item

This whimsical, charming, and bespoke creations are produced from various mediums and often incorporate repurposed, found, memorabilia, or recycled elements such as mosaic, bits of mirror, glass beads, gold leaf, charms, and copper wire, among others. Magpie Collective is described as a "socially conscious art collective." Their innovative work is so fascinating that it has caught the interest of collectors and designers worldwide. Their artwork lived in the Obama family's private quarters in the White House. With a strong social conscience and recycling drive, they use art to highlight pertinent issues in their community, such as the environment, unemployment, and HIV/Aids. They have always loved shiny things, things that catch and play with light – sparkle and throw light in all sorts of directions. They're nests of ideas, borrowings, findings, clashing and complementing, shiny and matt-like life. These masterpieces are individually made by hand and cannot be replicated. Each piece is one of a kind.
