Maison Arlus - Mid-Century Chandelier Ceiling Lamp "Paquebot" - 1960s - France Beautiful modernist chandelier produced by Arlus in the 1960s. In gilded metal and black lacquer, it is composed of two luminous points enclosed in a granite perspex shade. A gilded metal trim adds an elegant touch to this chandelier. Formal, sober and pure, Lunel's House models are still very popular with collectors thanks to their timeless design. The Maison Lunel is one of the four major French lighting editors of the 50s to 70s. Avant-garde, Arlus, Lunel, Rispal and Disderot surrounded themselves with great signatures of the design like Pierre Guariche, Jean Royère, Joseph-André Motte, Pierre Paulin, or Alain Richard. We owe them in particular the use of lacquered tubular metal or brass associated with opaline in the creation of elegant and refined lighting.

    Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. It's in a very good stafe. Jut note there two small, hard-to-see chips (1 to 2 milimeters wide) on the perspex, invisible once the chandelier has been installed.
