This striking Brutalist chandelier from 1960s Europe embodies the raw, sculptural aesthetic typical of mid-century European design.
Featuring three staggered pendants arranged at different heights, the piece delivers a dramatic interplay of form and function. Each pendant consists of a white opaline glass cylinder wrapped in a perforated black-painted metal band—a clear nod to Brutalist architecture’s love for texture and contrast.
Three small brass pins secure the glass to the black bakelite socket from within. From the minimalist black-painted metal canopy, topped with a brass finial, extend three curved arms holding the original cables—enhancing the pendant’s vertical rhythm.
A perfect blend of industrial character and modernist elegance, this Brutalist chandelier is ideal for interiors seeking a bold statement with historic design significance.
