Mid Century Modern Opalescent Murano 2-Tier Palma Chandelier w/ Brass Fittings

About the Item

This graphic and glamorous Mid Century Modern Palma chandelier was handblown in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production- circa 1970. It features to concentric rows of opalescent Murano shades with a striated channeled texture representing stylized palm leaves. The shades are secured to the frame via spherical lustrous brass rivets. An orbital embellishment with subtle crosshatching hangs the base of the chandelier. Additionally, the chandelier connects to the ceiling via a chain and a sculptural domed canopy in lustrous brass. This chandelier embodies the verve and élan of Mid Century Modern Italian design at its finest. It is a classic fixture that appears as relevant and aesthetically compelling today as when it was made more than fifty years ago. Its refined color palate and clean modernist lines ensure that it would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit.
