About the Item

A fine mid-century space age design petite Sputnick 12-light brass chandelier with canopy. The first satellite that ever orbited the earth was the Soviet Union's Sputnik satellite, launched in 1957. Soon thereafter the launch inspired the creation of NASA in the United States, which in turn launched an infatuation with all things and objects space-related, including the Sputnik chandelier. This light is in very good overall condition, with minimal surface wear, minor cracks or separations on a few of the bulb casings. A very desirable mid century modern style for an entryway or stairwell! Dimensions: Approximately 16 in height x 15 in diameter.
