About the Item
German made copper and brass bridge lights, circa 1960 by VEB
Reclaimed from bridges and gantry's of supertankers, cargo ships and load cranes.
The main body is spun copper with a lovely rich polished copper finish, the glass bezel and quick release levers are machine made, the section where the dome and bracket connect is cast brass and the hanging bracket itself is cast iron finished in black paint.
The light can be tilted to direct the light to specific areas and the beam can be focused to a spot or flood light by sliding the lamp holder towards or away from the glass.
A great feature lamp with plenty of serial numbers and specification details embossed and stamped onto the castings.
