A rare and striking piece of Italian design, this Moon Dome pendant lamp was created by Elio Martinelli for Martinelli Luce in the 1980s. With its sculptural presence and elegant proportions, it reflects the refined minimalism and futuristic aesthetic of late 20th-century Italian modernism.
The lamp features a large, glossy white metal dome measuring 75 cm (29.53 inches) in diameter, suspended from a black cord with an adjustable spherical counterweight. A distinctive U-shaped internal frame encircles the light source, both supporting the bulb and subtly diffusing the light for a warm, ambient glow. This clever design creates a floating effect, enhancing the lamp’s clean lines and celestial inspiration.
Standing 110 cm (43.31 inches) in height, the piece makes a striking focal point over dining tables, in entryways, or anchoring living spaces with its timeless appeal.
