Modernist Translucent & Textured Hand-Blown Murano Glass Chandelier
About the Item
This sophisticated modernist chandelier was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production circa 2000. It features a volumetric rectangular form consisting of a wealth of layered ovoid translucent and textured Murano glass shades. Each of these ovoid glass shades offers a subtle texture reminiscent of slightly disturbed surface of calm water. The chandelier attaches to the ceiling via a chrome chain and canopy that offers a beautiful tonal and material counterpoint to the Murano glass. With its clean modernist lines and beautiful glass quality, this chandelier would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates 6 candelabra based bulbs offering up to 360 watts of light.
