About the Item

Pair of original Tip Top pendant lights designed by Danish architect and designer Jørgen Gammelgaard in the 1970s. Produced by Design Forum, these sculptural pendants exemplify Scandinavian modern lighting design with their distinctive tiered shade system. Each light is composed of five overlapping spun-aluminum discs in a clean matte white enamel finish. The layered construction is not only visually striking but also serves a functional purpose—diffusing light evenly while preventing glare, creating a soft yet effective illumination. The Tip Top pendant quickly became an icon of Danish modernism, used in both private residences and public interiors for its balance of minimal form and technical refinement. The design reflects Gammelgaard’s architectural sensibilities, with its rhythmic geometry and emphasis on functionality. These pendants are rare to find in matching sets and present an excellent opportunity to acquire an iconic example of Danish modern lighting for refined interiors.
